What’s goin’ on?

Hey folks,

I’ve been quiet for a long time. There just isn’t enough time in the day, I tell ya. I think about writing every day, but I rarely get to act on those thoughts. You see, for the last year, I’ve been working hard to get my own freelance editing business going. Previously, I worked for Lyrical Press/Kensington Publishing, but I’ve been slowly but steadily building my own indie roster. And I’m happy to say that it’s going well! But I’ve worked weekends and holidays to make sure it would happen. Editing isn’t for the faint-hearted. It takes not only skill and education, but lots of lots of experience, patience, and integrity. To both yourself as an editor and honoring the author’s craft. It is often long hours working through every word, every sentence. (So if you are an author, give your editor a virtual hug today)

And with raising two young boys, well, I’m a bit buggered.

If you’d like to see what I’ve been up to with my editing, check out www.cmdediting.com. There I have all the projects I’ve worked on (and so very proud of) my credentials (About Me), services and rates, testimonials, consultations (and I’m adding more to this service, so watch this space!), and my editing blog, which I hope to get more active on.

As for any books coming up! This is what I’m working on:

  1. A novella for a Christmas anthology, The Twelve Nights of Christmas, to be released end of October this year. It’s a really cute concept and my story will be the last of twelve. Best for last, right? I can’t say much about it yet, but it does involve fruitcakes and whiskey. And of course, romance.
  2. Maul Me: Play On series short – Maul Me was supposed to be released last September but because of my editing career, my writing had to take a back seat. But I’m hoping to get it out by this September.
  3. Secret Project: Yes, this book is so top secret, and HOT, that I can’t even say what it’s about. It is full-length, first book in part of a series, and the only hint I’ll give you is that it’s in the paranormal genre. And well, the pic below. Can you guess?
