Sundae With Nuts – Mae Clair

October 13th, 2013

Welcome to another saucy episode of SUNDAE WITH NUTS where I have asked my fellow authors to join me for the day for a bit of fun and a laugh. We are romance writers after all!

Without further ado, I am most pleased to introduce the lovely and talented (and very brave!) Mae Clair!

Sundae with the Nut Mae Clair

1.Favorite knickers: cotton, lace, silk or errr…leather?
Silk. I’m spoiled that way. 🙂
2.Who is your fantasy male or female? Or both?
I’ve been in love with Jim Caviezel ever since I saw him in Frequency. When he did the Count of Monte Cristo, (especially that bit at the end with the billowy white shirt and black waistcoat), I was a goner. Lately, I’ve also been fixated on Robert Carlyle as Mr. Gold in the show Once Upon a Time. I know it’s an odd choice, but the combination of Scottish accent, long hair, and impeccably tailored clothing works for me.
Ooooh sexy eyes!
3.What language, when heard spoken, makes you frisky? (like Jamie Lee Curtis in A Fish called Wanda).
I love an accent, especially British, Irish and Scottish. You didn’t seriously expect me to pick just one? That would be like picking my favorite cat!
4.Do you believe in love at first sight?
Absolutely. I fell in love with my husband the moment I saw him.
5.I *heart* Peter Cetera. What song immediately swoops you back to your “first days” of falling in love?
Come Sail Away by Styx. It was “the song” the year I met my husband.
6.Most romantic or sexiest destination out there.
A small coastal town with a seaside B&B and my hubby.
7.If you become a best-selling author and sell your movie rights, what will be the first thing you do when you hear? Other than contact Cd Brennan and offer to share with her, of course.
Retire! What writer wouldn’t want to write fulltime? Of course, I’d also do a lot of celebrating, jumping up and down and blathering like a lunatic.
8.I wanted to be a helicopter pilot and a cowgirl when I grew up (still do). What did you want to grow up to be when you were a little girl?
Even as a kid, I dreamed of being a writer. It’s the single ambition I’ve focused on my entire life. At various times I also dabbled with the thought of pursuing a career in natural sciences or history. If I was able to pick a career today, I’d want to be a cryptozoologist. Unfortunately, they make even less than a part-time writer, LOL.
And last but now least.
9. Favorite ice cream flavor.
Mint chocolate chip (despite the fact my husband insists it tastes like mouthwash!)
* * * *
I’m so glad to finally have Miss Mae as a Nut! I don’t think my Sundaes would have been complete without her. A brave girl since I know she likes her privacy – which I can totally respect. I, on the other hand, seem unable to stop blabbing about my past. Probably because its so feckin’ rediculous you have to laugh!
So, I see Miss Mae agress with many of my Nuts with the accents. I do believe I am going to start an audio book company – the slant would be sexy as hell male accents reading the story (they could be scary ugly as Shrek, but you wouldn’t know, would you?) – of course you have to set the books in Ireland, Scotland, England or Wales. Or like my last guest, Hungary? 🙂
And I oh, so agree with your hubby, Miss Mae. Most of you know by now my folks own an icecream shop and out of all the flavors there are today, why Mint Choc Chip? It DOES taste like mouthwash! But my dad says it is still one of the top sellers. Go figure. I suppose you can have a dessert and an after dinner mint in one go.
Miss Mae, can you please give my guests a rundown of what a cryptozoologist does? 🙂
A talented author and a lovely gal, please check out Twelfth Sun by Mae Clair. I am smitten with boats and the sea and there’s nothing dreamier than a sexy man on board!!
